Her recent research on crisis-driven disinformation and online influence campaigns has been widely cited, including by CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. She regularly briefs senior policymakers, contributes to strategic research design, and has provided expert testimony before the US House Intelligence Committee.

Melanie previously served as Director of Analysis at the leading network analytics firm Graphika and spent five years in Washington DC working at the intersection of technology and threat intelligence. Her work continues to focus on international responses to the evolving landscape of online manipulation and information warfare.
