Mars Wrigley Confectionery and Mars Inc.

Martin Radvan is an experienced and highly successful international leader. A Brit by nationality, Martin is currently based in both the UK and the U.S. and has also lived in France and the Middle East, where he helped establish the first Mars Inc. operating unit in that region.

As Deputy Group CEO and EVP of Mars Inc., and President & CEO of Mars Wrigley Confectionery, the world’s largest confectionery manufacturer, Martin was responsible for all Mars’ chocolate, gum, mints, and confections brands - an $18bn P&L with 35,000 staff in 70 countries and industry-leading brands including M&Ms, Snickers, Mars, Twix, Orbit, Extra, Skittles, and Starburst. Martin took this role following his leadership on the project resulting in Mars’ decision to buy out Warren Buffet’s minority stake in Wm Wrigley and integrate the Wrigley and Chocolate businesses. Here, he managed the Berkshire Hathaway relationship, leading annual meetings with Warren Buffett. Mars is the sixth largest privately held company in the U.S.

Previously, Martin was President and CEO of Wm. Wrigley Co., with $6.5bn revenues and 17,000 staff. Before that, he served as the President and CEO of Mars Drinks, which brought over a billion fresh, single-serve drinks to over 35,000 businesses each year. Prior to that, he spent over a decade at Mars in various IT roles, serving as Group CIO for three years where he oversaw expenditures of $450M and led a global ERP implementation and the creation of Mars Global Services, which incorporated IT and other shared services within Mars.

In addition to living in the Middle East, Martin was posted to France to manage inter-company pricing and the business interface with Mars Information Services for the European Petcare business, before becoming President and CIO of Mars Information Services, where he oversaw the company’s global information technology organization. He later took on added responsibility for Mars Developing Petcare units where he oversaw the company’s transition from a regionally-structured business to globally-aligned business segments. He also led numerous emerging market corporate initiatives in China, Africa, and India to create environmental and social improvement.

Martin is a Board Director of Chitipa SA, serving on the Audit, Talent and Remuneration Committees and is Chair of the Oxford-Mars Mutuality Programme committee at Saïd Business School, Oxford University. His additional board experience includes many years working with the Mars Board, including attending its meetings and many sub-committees.
