Mario Ellis was named Chief Human Resources Officer for Beacon Health System in February 2023. He previously served as Vice President, Total Rewards and HR Operations, for WellSpan Health in York, Pennsylvania. Mario has more than 30 years of experience in aligning corporate vision and strategy with human resources policy and practices across complex and matrix organizations including academic health systems. Mario is a team builder with a demonstrated ability to lead others toward achieving common goals, embracing change and defining strategic priorities. He has built a solid reputation of being a trusted leader with a talent for excellent service delivery.

Mario holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a concentration in human resources from DePaul University in Chicago. He also earned a Master of Arts in Practical Theology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, and a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
