Marina Hong is the SVP & Head of Human Resources for North America, for Bayer since July 2022, responsible for more than 20,000 employees in the Crop Science, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health divisions with a revenue of more than USD15billion.  She joined Bayer on February 1, 2021, as VP Human Resources, Pharmaceuticals Americas and was instrumental in the HR support for key product launch plans and driving business impacts through people and culture. Since June 2023, she has an additional portfolio as the key enterprise lead catalyst for driving People Enablers and HR transformation. including new ways of thinking through leadership in the future, flattening the organization, talent flow strategy, skills-based organization and having a customer-first mindset including recent launches of cross functional pods, rapid cycles and as part of the AI & technology roadmap, launch of Talent Marketplace & Service Now.

She is an international HR executive with expertise that spans across the Americas, Europe and Asia where she started her career more than 25 years ago.  Uniquely positioned in her global business experiences in various industries, including medical devices, industrial gases, banking and services, professional consulting and chemical. 

Marina joined Bayer from Becton Dickinson, a global medical technology company focused on the technologies that enable medical research and clinical laboratories. She most recently led HR globally for the Integrated Diagnostics Solutions business unit with HR responsibility for more than 7,000 associates.  During her more than eight years with the company, Marina held roles of increasing responsibility in multiple business units in the U.S. and Asia. Her leadership spanned almost every discipline in HR, including developing people strategies, driving inclusion and diversity, supporting acquisition and integration, organization design and development and driving HR Innovation & technology.

Prior to Becton Dickinson, Marina spent nine years with the Linde Group, a leading industrial gas and engineering company headquartered in Germany. She held leadership roles in South and East Asia and in Germany.   

Marina earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with focus on Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin and a graduate diploma in Personnel Management from Singapore Institute of Management. Marina is fluent in several languages including English, Mandarin, Cantonese and conversational German and is a regular speaker on the future of work, leadership & coaching and DE&I. 

She is also a Board member of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey since June 2023, playing a key role in advising on their HR and DE&I strategy.

Marina lives with her husband and family in New Jersey where she enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking different cuisines.
