Kent D. Kedl is a Senior Advisor with The Conference Board (TCB) and works with The China Center and their CEO Council, advising members’ in-China senior leadership and briefing member Excos and boards. Having lived and worked in China since the late 80s, Kent’s expertise ranges from assessing and mitigating business risk, planning and executing business strategy, and navigating the range of geopolitical tensions TCB members face today in China. Kent works closely with TCB staff on development, thought leadership and programming and coordinates with TCB experts around the world to address the issues of greatest concern to TCB members in China.
Prior to joining TCB, Kent was the Managing Partner for Control Risks’ Greater China and North Asia practice where he and his team supported clients to address a range of business risks, from internal fraud and investigations to geopolitical risk and crisis management. Kent was also a partner at Technomic Asia, an M&A and strategy advisory firm supporting foreign investment in China in the 90s and 00s.
Kent has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in East Asian studies from the University of Minnesota and completed graduate studies in journalism and mass communication at the China Times Centre for Mass Media and Social Studies.
