Jonathan Njus is a senior program officer for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role, Jonathan co-leads the foundation’s national grantmaking team focused on identifying opportunities to affective positive systemic change and advance equity in early childhood education, employment, food and health. He also oversees a portfolio of work that supports efforts to increase workforce mobility, financial stability, and economic security for working families. He is currently leading the Expanding Equity initiative for the foundation, which is partnering with the private sector to build workplaces that work for all workers. 

Prior to joining the foundation, Jonathan served as a senior policy advisor for the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC. He was appointed to the Obama Administration to advance the Department of Labor’s initiatives around clean energy, job training and worker safety, and was detailed to the Domestic Policy Council at the White House to work on labor issues. 

Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Kalamazoo College, and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. He and his family live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
