Jim Slamp is the Program Director for the Divisional CFO Council and the CFO Council II of The Conference Board.  He is the former Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of The Conference Board, having retired in 2024.  He had overall responsibility for financial management of the business, including statutory compliance in all regions of operations—the United States, Belgium & the EU, China, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Jim was also responsible for the management of the information technology and facilities organizations at The Conference Board. As treasurer, he oversaw the organization’s pension and reserve investment portfolios in partnership with the finance committee. He also oversaw the company’s $50 million investment portfolio.

Jim began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent 13 years providing a broad scope of financial expertise to emerging market companies and larger multinational Fortune 500 companies. In his subsequent roles of corporate controller and chief financial officer, he oversaw various growth-oriented, equity-backed companies with a view toward exit through IPO or acquisition. During his career, Jim has been involved with multiple debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions at all levels, business integrations, balance sheet restructurings, and cost rationalizations. Jim received his BS degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and his CPA in 1977.
