Jill Hedges, Ph.D.

Jill Hedges joined Oxford Analytica in 2001. She leads Latin America analysis and is responsible for Daily Brief coverage of Southern Cone countries and Venezuela, among others, and has been a frequent contributor to the Daily Brief on Argentina in particular.

Recent projects have included acting as an expert witness for a client in an arbitration case and bespoke reports for clients on Argentina, including a five-year political and economic outlook and annual reports on the mining outlook. She has done radio and television interviews for the BBC and others, including Al-Jazeera and CNBC, and has been a panellist at the Oxford Analytica International Conference since 2002. Her books Argentina: A Modern History and Evita: The Life of Eva Perón were published by I B Tauris in July 2011 and October 2016.

Jill previously worked as Editorial Manager of Esmerk Argentina, covering political, macroeconomic and business news from Latin America, and is a former member of Amnesty International’s Americas research department. She holds a PhD and an MA (Distinction) in Latin American Studies from RILAS at the University of Liverpool, specialising in Argentine politics, federal relations and provincial economies.
