James Garvie leads multiple HR functions at Southern Company including Total Rewards, Workforce Intelligence/Analytics, and HR Technology. James’ role includes strategy development, plan and policy design, management’s liaison with the Compensation Committee/Board of Directors, and ongoing administration of HR programs. James began his career with Southern Company in 2012. Prior to joining Southern Company, James was a Director at Alexander Group, a management consulting firm, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on sales strategies, sales compensation and operational efficiencies. Prior to his time in consulting, he held a leadership position at BlueLinx and analytical positions in accounting/financial and compensation at Georgia-Pacific. James is a native of Scotland and now resides in Atlanta, GA.
