Lia Valls Pereira is currently the coordinator of Foreign Trade Studies (Brazilian Institute of Economics - Getulio Vargas Foundation) and deputy professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Areas of research: foreign trade policy; international economic relations, international commercial agreements and regulations.

Lia earned her Ph.D. at the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
