Ms. Kelley is the first program director for the Chief Intellectual Property Officers Council, which formed in 2017.  In this role, she researches and curates program content and speakers to meet Council members’ needs for relevant and cutting-edge content on key business issues and topics pertaining to intellectual property in all its forms.

Since 2015, Ms. Kelley has also served as a special advisor to CREATe Compliance, an Ethisphere company, on intellectual property and anticorruption matters. Before her retirement from Microsoft in 2014, she served as Associate General Counsel and performed a wide variety of IP and other roles in 20 years with the company.  These included: managing the IP licensing and open source legal functions; working with Fortune 500 companies, global NGOs, and US and foreign governments to reduce risks of IP theft and cyber-security breaches in the global supply chain; and leading the company’s antipiracy efforts in the US (including enforcement, industry, and governmental outreach).

Ms. Kelley received her BA from U.C. Berkeley and JD from U.C. Hastings College of the Law.  In 2011, the University of Chicago Law Reviewpublished her article “Practicing in the Patent Marketplace”.
