Martín Ibañez Frocham is a Senior Partner with Mercer, advising clients across Latin America on how to improve the contribution of their executive talent. Previously, he played the role of Latin America Leader for the Talent business, Chief Operating Officer for Mercer México, and Country Head for Mercer Argentina.
With more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources, combining consulting and line management, Martin has worked extensively in the following areas:
Martín has authored articles and has been quoted on the subjects of executive compensation and human capital strategy in several publications including: Harvard Business Review, World at Work Journal, WorkSpan, La Nación, Clarin, Apertura, Reforma, Expansión, Folha de São Paulo O Estado de São Paulo, Exame, and others. He is also a contributor to the Mercer’s book “Pay for Results: Aligning Executive Compensation with Business Performance”. Martin’s expertise in these areas has placed him in great demand as a lecturer and seminar/workshop leader in human resource management in the Latin America region.
Martín’s industry experience is diverse, including consulting with clients in telecommunications, basic materials, retail, oil & gas, consumer products, pharmaceutical, financial services and utilities. Before joining Mercer, he worked at IBM, Accenture, Procter & Gamble and Abbott Laboratories in different corporate HR roles.
Martin has a BS and MS in pharmacy and biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, and MBA from CEMA Buenos Aires/Argentina. He has also attended the Senior Executive Program at London Business School (2009) and the Management Development Program at IAE (1997). He teaches at the MBA program at CEMA, and served on the faculty at the Universidad del Salvador and the Universidad Torcuato DiTella.
