Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Institutional Financial Services
Josh Greenwald is an accomplished HR executive, who has served in senior leadership roles at several fortune 500 companies across diverse industries.
Mr. Greenwald joined TIAA in January 2013 and he is the Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources for the flagship Institutional Financial Services business. In this role, Josh oversees all aspects of human resources strategy and execution, including compensation and benefits; talent acquisition, assessment, and development; organizational design and effectiveness; and diversity and inclusion. His main focus is to shape the business for future growth and scalability.
Prior to this role, Josh was the Vice President and Head of Human Resources for the Chief Operating Officer, where he played an instrumental role in standing up the enterprise Digital operating model and the enterprise business effectiveness strategy. He joined the company as the Head of Organizational Effectiveness, where he led the Vision 2020 culture and values refresh.
Josh joined TIAA from Bank of America, where he served as a SVP, Leadership Development Executive, providing business partner and COE leadership for multi-billion dollar P&Ls and Technology and Operations divisions. He was responsible for leading talent management, organizational design, assessment, team effectiveness, process improvement, cultural integration and learning strategy.
Josh has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resource Leadership, Organizational and Leadership Development, Change Management and Management Consulting. Prior to Bank of America, he worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Organizational Dynamics Inc., Raytheon and Federated Department Stores.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut, Storrs and he is a graduate of the Cornell Modern CHRO program. Josh lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife Jodi and two sons, Max and Ian.
