Head of Employee Listening Strategy
Royal Bank of Scotland
Having worked at RBS for 13 years across a number of roles in Corporate and HR, Marc is responsible for the Employee Listening Strategy in RBS, which he has run for the last 4 years.
Employee engagement is a strategic priority for RBS, with a very clear link to business performance. People Strategy & Insight - the wider team that Marc sits in –– provides a depth and breadth of research-based knowledge gathered from a range of tools (including employee opinion surveys, 360 Feedback) and external partnerships (incl. The Conference Board and Willis Towers Watson).
Marc’s role in this space is to provide the Board and Executive Committees with data driven insight to help them make informed business decisions. He does this using insight gathered from employee listening tools (opinion surveys, focus groups, social media analysis and structured interview data), combining it with the broader insight from the team to create action-oriented insight to inform the bank’s people strategy, its culture journey and wider strategic imperatives (e.g. EVP, internal customer excellence, diversity & inclusion) .
Marc is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel (CIPD), and as chair of the Engagement Community in Scotland, is exploring common challenges and best practices within the engagement space across Scottish organizations.
