Sarah A. O’Hare is Freudenberg & Co. KG vice president, global talent management. She is responsible for talent management of Freudenberg’s 40,000 strong global workforce across 60 countries. Her focus is on long term leadership succession planning that involves talent identification, assessment and development. In her job, she also focuses on performance and feedback culture and diversity.
O’Hare began her career at Freudenberg-NOK in 1998 as the director of compensation and was promoted a year later to director of compensation and benefits. She was named vice president of Human Resources in 2004 and assumed additional responsibility for the Communications function in 2007. From 2012 to mid-2014, Sarah was Freudenberg’s regional vice president of Human Resources for North America. In this role, she was responsible for driving the strategic direction of the human resources function which includes talent management, people management, organizational and associate development, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, labor and employee relations and training.
Before joining Freudenberg-NOK, she served as corporate compensation manager for Standard Products in Novi, Mich., where she was responsible for the global compensation function. Prior to that, she was a compensation specialist at NBD Bank in Detroit. From 1989 to 1994, O’Hare worked as a consultant at William M. Mercer, Inc., a worldwide management consulting firm in Detroit.
A certified compensation professional, O’Hare earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kalamazoo College in Michigan. She is a board member and development committee chair for Beyond Basics non-profit organization. Sarah has served as president and vice president of education for the Michigan Ontario Compensation Association and has been a guest lecturer at several local universities.
