General Manager, Gladiator Garageworks
Mr. Gitlin is the General Manager for the Gladiator Garageworks business at Whirlpool Corporation. He’s built a track record for leading and growing new and mature businesses, as well as bringing broad sales and marketing experiences to business-to-business and business-to-consumer opportunities. At Gladiator, he’s created a growth business that’s changed its focus from just storage and organization to helping consumers use their garages to pursue their passions.
Over the years, Mr. Gitlin has lead many successful trade customer purchase experience initiatives with large mass retailers including The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy and Sears that have led to increased traffic and conversion. His background in strategy, operations, customer care, product development, marketing and innovation have positioned him with a unique skill set to design brand experiences. Having worked on many experience design challenges over the years and with many brand experience thought leaders, Mr. Gitlin was asked to be the project leader for a global brand experience center for Whirlpool Corporation. Now recognized as one of the leading B2B brand experiences, Mr. Gitlin is here today to share the approach used to create a high ROI generating experience that continues to remain fresh and “wow” guests as it approaches its 5 year anniversary later this year. The center is known as the “World of Whirlpool”.
Mr. Gitlin is a native of Brooklyn, New York and now resides in Stevensville, Michigan. He graduated from the University of North Carolina while majoring in Business and Literature. Gitlin then completed his MBA at Indiana University-Bloomington. Prior to working for Whirlpool Corporation, Mr. Gitlin worked for The New York Times, Federal Express and Glaxo.
