The Conference Board
Klaas de Vries is an associate economist at The Conference Board Europe. He focuses on measurement of economic growth and productivity and works on The Conference Board Global Economic Outlook, an annual flagship report on the global economy. He also maintains and develops the Total Economy Database™. In addition, he contributes to the research program on the European economic environment and other research relating to the Global Economy and Innovation & Productivity Centers. Prior to joining The Conference Board, de Vries worked at the University of Groningen, where he studied economic development and structural growth issues. He has published articles on structural transformation in emerging markets in general and on the dynamics of structural change in Sub-Saharan Africa in particular. De Vries holds a master’s degree in history from the University of Groningen and continues his coursework in economics.
