Management Researcher, Strategic Management and Organization Design
John W. Selsky is a management researcher and adviser in strategic management, organization design and development, and corporate social responsibility. He has held academic positions at University of Melbourne (Australia), Monash University (Australia), University of Otago (New Zealand) and University of South Florida, as well as visiting positions in the U.S. and Turkey. He has published extensively in leading management journals, including Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Applied Behavioral Sciences. He holds a M.S. and Ph.D. from The Wharton School.
John has a long standing interest in turbulent organizational environments and how to strategize effectively in them. His concerns about agile and resilient systems flow from that focus on turbulence and contextual disruption. John also actively researches in the areas of cross-sector social partnerships and sustainable environmental management. For some years, he has collaborated with colleagues at the Said Business School, Oxford University in organizing the triannual Oxford Futures Forums. He co-edited a book of contributions sourced from the first OFF, Business Planning for Turbulent Times (with Rafael Ramirez and Kees van der Heijden, Earthscan, London, 2008, rev. 2010). John is the co-author of Mastering Turbulence (with Joe McCann, Jossey-Bass/Wiley, 2012).
