Vice President, Logistics & Transportation
George Schember serves as Vice President, Cargill Transportation & Logistics (CTL), with responsibilities for T&L activities across Cargill’s four global regions and multiple modal groups—truck, rail, barge, container, warehouse and terminals. He is the process lead for the Managed Goods Movement and Storage (MGMS) area for Cargill’s Process organization. He joined Cargill in 1984 and since that time has held roles in Cargill’s Flour Milling, Worldwide Dry Milling and North American Grain and Oilseeds businesses. In 2005 he was named vice president of Horizon Milling, LLC. He assumed his current role in 2009. Schember is a member of the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) and the National Freight Transportation Association (NFTA). Schember received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Saint Thomas, Saint Paul, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also holds a certificate from the Management Development Program of the University of Michigan Executive Education Center.
