Anna-Sterre Nette has been working for SynTao since spring 2009 and heads the social responsible investment (SRI) team. The team produces ethical screening services and analysis with a specific focus on China to shareholders and investors. Nette contributes research and stakeholder engagement to SynTao’s Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) training and China CSR Map (CCM), SynTao’s joint venture with the Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility Project. Nette is an integrated expert from the Centrum für internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM) in Germany. Before joining SynTao, Nette gained more than five years of experience in corporate responsibility research and management. She was a research analyst on the corporate governance research team (voting recommendations) of RiskMetrics Group (now MSCI) in the London office. Prior to RMG, Nette worked as a corporate social responsibility researcher and project coordinator for Prof. Dr. Noreena Hertz (University of Cambridge) and the oil company Shell. Before that, Nette worked as a consultant for the Dutch consultancy Huijskens & Istha in financial and corporate communications in Amsterdam. She holds a BA and MSc in Communication Science and a BA and MA in philosophy from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
