Deidre Lind

As the Executive Director, Mattel Children's Foundation and Philanthropy Programs for Mattel, Inc.  Deidre Lind is responsible for leading Mattel's philanthropic presence nationally and internationally and building Mattel's reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.  Under Ms. Lind's direction, Mattel and the Mattel Children's Foundation are building partnerships with globally recognized nonprofits as well as local programs directly affecting children in almost 100 countries around the world.  In addition, Ms. Lind directs employee charitable programs, volunteer activities, and grantmaking for this Fortune-500 company.  Ms. Lind previously served as Kaiser Permanente’s California Division Associate Director for Government and Community Relations.  Her areas of focus included strategic planning, community relations, issues management, stakeholder relations, community grant-making, and government relations.  Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Deidre worked on social policy for the Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan.  A native of Los Angeles, Ms. Lind received her BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and both a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Southern California.  She has completed the San Francisco Academy, a nationally-recognized corporate public relations development program, and is an active member and participant of the Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College and the Council on Foundations.  She currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Community Partners, a nonprofit incubator and leader in community-based strategy and management.   Deidre also serves on the Council on Foundations' Committee on Corporate Grantmaking, the Conference Board’s Contributions Council II, the Program Committee of Southern California Grantmakers and the Board of Directors of Friends of Castle Heights Elementary.
