Ilene Gordon is executive chairman of Ingredion Incorporated. She previously was chairman, president and CEO of Ingredion from 2009 through 2017.
Gordon previously was president and CEO of Alcan Packaging, a $6.5 billion global packaging business with 130 factories and 30,000 employees in 30 countries, serving customers in the food, beauty, tobacco, and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to that, she served as senior vice president of Alcan, Inc. and president of Alcan Packaging’s $1.4 billion food packaging Americas unit. Before Alcan acquired Pechiney in 2003, Gordon was Pechiney’s senior vice president and president of plastic packaging, where she was responsible for a business with locations in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Gordon spent 17 years in executive roles at the Packaging Corporation of America, a division of Tenneco Inc. Gordon was vice president and general manager of the company’s folding carton business; vice president of operations at the Tenneco corporate level; vice president of total quality management, which included continuous improvement; vice president and general manager of corrugated and specialty packaging; and vice president of strategy.
Gordon holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a master of science degree in management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
She is a vice chair of the board of trustees of The Conference Board.
