Dr. Grezlak has management responsibility for state government affairs and for assisting Merck’s Washington Office on Federal health care policy. He is a member of Merck's Corporate Responsibility Council and a leader of its activities in the area of public policy advocacy. Prior to joining Merck in March of 1989, Dr. Grezlak spent nine years at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). Positions he held at PhRMA included Deputy Vice President, Health Care Systems and Assistant Vice President, State Government Affairs. Before his tenure at PhRMA he held research positions at the Georgetown University Health Policy Center in Washington, D.C. and a social science research firm in McLean, Virginia. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Princeton University and his doctorate in the same field at Georgetown University.
