Hydra Mendoza is an experienced non-profit, government, and private sector leader.

Hydra led the San Francisco Chapter of the national non-profit organization, Parents for Public Schools. She served as Senior Education Advisor to former Mayor Gavin Newsom, Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Equity to Mayor Edwin M. Lee before his untimely passing, and subsequently for acting Mayor London Breed and interim Mayor Mark Farrell.

She was the first and only Filipina elected in San Francisco winning a citywide seat on the SFUSD Board of Education where she served three terms, twice as President.

She was appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio as his Deputy Chancellor in the NYC Department of Education in charge of the Division of Community Empowerment, Partnerships, and Communications which includes the offices of Family and Community Engagement, Community Affairs, Government Relations, Marketing, Communications, Press, and Translation and Interpretation. NYC-DOE is the largest public school system, serving over 1M students at that time.

She is now Vice President, Chief of Strategic Relationships at Salesforce, where she builds, manages, and maintains stakeholder relationships, partnerships, and community investments for the Chairman and CEO.

She serves as a Trustee for The Glide Foundation, California Academy of Sciences, and an Advisor on the Bay Area Host Committee.
