Ellis A. Jones is the former VP & Chief Sustainability Officer at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Prior to his retirement, he was with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 32 years and led the Global Sustainability, Environmental, Health, Safety organization since January 2017, with Business Continuity added as a responsibility in 2019. Prior to his current role, Ellis was Manufacturing Director of Race Tire Manufacturing in Akron, Ohio, leading its lean cultural transformation. Throughout his career, Ellis has led organizational transformations in Regional Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance, Global Marketing Finance, Plant Accounting, and Commercial Tire Finance.    

Ellis was recently elected as an independent director of TimkenSteel. In addition, Ellis has been a board member for several non-profit organizations and is currently on the board of directors for First Tee Greater Akron.  

Ellis enjoys helping young adults reach their leadership potential. He serves as Goodyear’s executive sponsor for the All-Akron Student Engineering Program, developing and leading student workshops designed to help high school students develop leadership skills. He is also an executive coach at the College of Charleston working with MBA candidates.  

Ellis joined Goodyear in 1989 after graduating from Hampton University with a degree in Accounting. In 2015, Ellis received his master’s degree in Business Operational Excellence from the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio State University.

Ellis is married to Brenda Jones and is originally from Pittsburgh, PA.
