Global HR Transformation Lead

Elke Bartl was named Head of HR Next at Bayer AG on July 1, 2020. The role focuses on the transformation of the HR function as part of a larger transformational project within Bayer.
Previously Bartl held several roles in HR in Bayer. From 2006 to 2013 Bartl served as Head of HR//direct at Bayer Business Services, and thus played a major role in the transformation of human resources at Bayer according to the shared services concept. Later she took over global Business Partner roles for Bayer’s Engineering unit as well as for the Corporate Center & Global Functions. In 2016 Bartl was appointed Head of HR International, which includes the functional leadership, governance and support of HR organizations in the countries as well as the exchange of best practices globally. In addition, she has played major roles in several internal transformation projects, including the recent Monsanto acquisition.
Born in Bonn, Germany, Elke Bartl studied business administration with a focus on human resources and marketing at the University of Paderborn. She worked in numerous HR positions at Schlumberger in Germany before joining IBM in 1999 to assume HR roles in England, France and Hungary.
