Edward W. Stack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DICK’S Sporting Goods, leads the largest, omni-channel sporting goods retailer in the United States. Since 1984, Mr. Stack has led DICK’S through a remarkable period of growth from two stores in upstate New York to a Fortune 500 Company with more than 800 DICK’S Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and Field & Stream stores, as well as over $1 billion in annual eCommerce sales.

Mr. Stack’s recognitions and awards include the following: Maverick in Leadership Award by The Yale School of Management’s Chief Executive Leadership Institute (2019); Force for Good honoree from the CECP: The CEO Board of Boards (2019); named a Groundbreaker by the New York Times at its 2018 DealBook Conference; bestowed an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from St. John Fisher College (2016); The Major John H. Russell Leadership Award from the Marine Corps University Foundation (2016); Humanity and Service Award from The Bus Stops Here Foundation (2014); National Sporting Goods Association Hall of Fame induction (2006); History Makers Award for Business & Industry by the Heinz History Center (2005); Entrepreneur of the Year in Southwestern Pennsylvania by Ernst & Young (1999); and Sports Executive Visionary of the Year by Sports Style Magazine (1997).

Mr. Stack graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Mr. Stack serves on the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation and on the Advisory Board of Wharton’s Jay H. Baker Retailing Initiative. He is also a member of Everytown Business Leaders for Gun Safety. Mr. Stack formerly served on the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Seton Hill University Board of Trustees and KeyCorp Board of Directors.
