Doug Braunstein is vice chairman of Wells Fargo. In this role, he is focused on expanding the company’s corporate finance and advisory businesses, while also providing advice to Wells Fargo senior management on broader business issues.

An industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience, Doug joined Wells Fargo in 2024. He worked at JPMorgan Chase for nearly two decades where he held several executive management roles, including chief financial officer and vice chairman. He was also head of JPMorgan’s Americas Investment Banking, head of Global M&A, and global head of Industry Coverage.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he founded Hudson Executive Capital, a value-oriented investment firm, where he served as founder and managing partner for nine years. During that time, Doug served on the board of six public companies, including as interim chief executive officer of Talkspace, Inc.

Doug has been an advisor to numerous boards and management teams, offering counsel in the planning, structuring, and implementation of a full range of corporate finance solutions and strategic alternatives. He has been involved in nearly $1 trillion in transactions throughout his career.

Doug is a member of the Weill Cornell Board of Fellows, having recently completed 12 years as a Cornell University board member, including serving as vice chair of the board of trustees. He also serves on Harvard Law School’s Dean’s Advisory Board and is a member of the UJA of Greater New York’s Wall Street and Financial Services Division.

Doug received his B.S. from Cornell University in 1983 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986. He is based in New York City.
