As the Chief Communications Officer at Colgate-Palmolive, Dana leads a high-performing team that drives communications initiatives to enhance the Company’s visibility and influence among key stakeholder groups. He also leads the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility practice, through which they build strong partnerships with non-profit organizations to improve connectivity with the communities they serve.

Prior to joining Colgate-Palmolive, he served as the head of Corporate Affairs for Haleon, the world’s largest stand-alone consumer health company. He was responsible for all communications and public policy for the £10 billion entity.

Dana brings considerable corporate affairs, strategic and regulatory compliance experience from over 30 years as a leader across the consumer-packaged goods, agriculture and consumer health sectors.

Having lived and worked on six continents, he has led large-scale business development and strategic transformation efforts at some of the most recognized brands, including Philip Morris, The Coca-Cola Company, Corteva Agriscience (formerly DowDuPont) and, most recently, Haleon plc. He has played critical leadership roles in managing shareholder activism, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, demergers, and public company listings.

Dana serves as a thought leader, confidant, and coach to senior executives on the implications of public policy and social trends for Boards, C-suites, and corporate affairs functions. He has a strong record of planning and executing major change initiatives, enabling successful execution of strategy for the companies.

Working with corporate boards, he has delivered strategies to increase revenue, expand business reach and develop public policy initiatives safeguarding more than one billion dollars in revenue (through the defeat of tax proposals regulations). He has created social media programs to reduce headwinds for companies on social issues, implemented reputation effectiveness programs and created regulatory communications to ensure compliance with Securities Exchange Commission and the Financial Services Authority. His work in this area includes the creation of all financial communications, annual and sustainability reports for corporations. He has also led award-winning employee engagement programs for companies.

A first-generation college student, Dana’s background and lived experiences have also played a significant role in shaping his passion for education, inclusion, and equity. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Washington & Lee University (his alma mater) and chaired the Governance Committee.

He is a 2017 graduate of the Bush-Clinton Presidential Leadership Scholars program and previously served on the board of directors of GenYouth, the NFL Foundation.
