Chris Ellis is the co-founder and CEO of Thatch, a transformative health benefits platform that empowers businesses to deliver affordable, personalized healthcare coverage to their employees. Chris started his career as a cancer researcher at MIT. His scientific expertise and firsthand experience with the complexity of the healthcare system fueled his drive to build the technical infrastructure necessary to simplify and expand access to healthcare. Prior to starting Thatch, Chris founded the U.S. sales team at Sophia Genetics, a clinical software startup. He then worked to develop and market software for Agilent, a global biotech company. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics from Duke University and a Master of Science in Biology from MIT. As a leader in the health benefits sector, Chris actively engages with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and employers to drive meaningful reforms that foster increased availability of high-quality, cost-effective care.
