Carletta Vicain is the Associate Director of Work and Life Matters, the internal Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for Cedars-Sinai Health System. She leads a dedicated internal team of five and collaborates with exceptional external providers to deliver seamless, evidence-based wellbeing services to over 18,000 employees. With a deep passion for preventing burnout and integrating wellbeing programs, Carletta is committed to developing universal messaging around stress reduction and wellbeing enhancement. She has dedicated her career to supporting those who serve others. 

For over 20 years, Carletta has delivered high-quality, effective, and accessible mental health and wellness services to military, healthcare, and nonprofit communities. Her extensive experience includes directing complex, evidence-based clinical and wellness programs for the Marine Corps, Navy, Naval Special Warfare, Army, Veterans Services, and numerous Southern California school districts. She has also worked as a clinician and consultant for a range of nonprofit organizations serving military personnel, healthcare workers, and their families. 

An accomplished leader and innovator, Carletta played a key role in UCLA’s FOCUS Program, providing resilience training and educational support across various branches of the military. During her time with the Marine Corps, she successfully overhauled behavioral health initiatives, integrating evidence-based practices and suicide prevention strategies. Her efforts significantly increased program utilization and improved community wellbeing. 

Carletta is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. Her dedication has been recognized with the Department of the Navy’s Civilian Service Achievement Medal for outstanding achievements in behavioral health. She is also a dynamic presenter, frequently speaking at workshop, trainings and on podcasts. 

Outside of work, Carletta finds harmony and restoration in beach days, all things Hawaiian (including outrigger paddling), and spending quality time with her daughter, family, and friends.
