EVP, Chief People Officer
Catholic Relief Services

Since 2020, Candace has been steering the helm of a division that supports over 8,000 emergency and humanitarian workers to be their best as they serve thousands of communities across 86 countries.

Grounded in the belief that people powers CRS's mission, she is committed to cementing a foundation for colleagues to have equitable and inclusive experiences in the workplace. Candace's leadership is transforming the organization's human resources into a global service provider and strategic thought partner that fosters innovation, creativity, efficiency, and collaboration. With her guidance, teams have spearheaded historic initiatives such as the Respect, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion program to champion the representation and participation of all individuals as part of CRS's long-term workforce goals.

In her private capacity, Candace supports community-based social justice projects, particularly those that provide underserved students better access to education in the United States and West Africa. In addition, she is a board member of various nonprofits, charities, and universities such as the Women's Business Council, Maryland Governor's Tourism and Development Board, Building Steps, Stevenson University, St. Mary's College, and the University of MD College Success Scholars.

For her meaningful civic contributions, HRO Today and the Daily Record have recognized her as the 2015 Non-Profit Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year and one of the Top 100 Women in Maryland in 2014 and 2019.

Candace is a Cornell University graduate and currently a student of the Wharton Global Chief Human Resources Officers Executive Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a certified Senior Human Resource Professional, a Non-Profit Standards of Excellence Consultant, and an Executive Leadership Coach. Out of all these achievements, she is most proud of the privilege to mentor and coach others. Many of them are now leaders who are delivering positive changes in their own fields.
