Byron L. Boston is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board and Co-Chief Executive Officer, a position he has held since December 2023. Byron's journey with the Board began in 2012, and since January 2014, he has diligently served as CEO or Co-CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer. His tenure as President spanned from March 2012 to December 2020, while his role as Chief Investment Officer started back in April 2008.

Over the years, Byron has contributed his expertise to multiple boards in advisory and leadership capacities. He has been actively involved with the Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) Advisory Board of Governors. Furthermore, Byron has had the honor of serving on the board of Salzburg Global, where he chaired both the Investment and Finance Committees.

In addition to these roles, Byron serves on the boards of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, Virginia Learns, and The Dartmouth Athletics Advisory Board. His extensive list of affiliations also includes being a Trustee of the Conference Board’s Council for Economic Development and a member of the Bretton Woods Committee.

Byron's background is rich with experience in U.S. real estate finance, asset management/investment banking, and fixed-income capital markets. He has adeptly overseen strategy and operations, built strong stakeholder relationships, and led strategic decisions that drive long-term gains and robust investor returns. His career commenced in corporate banking with JPMorgan Chase, followed by gaining significant Fixed Income trading experience at Credit Suisse First Boston and Lehman Brothers. Notably, at Freddie Mac, Byron developed and led the initial investment plan for their retained portfolio.

Additionally, Byron launched Sunset Financial Resources, a mortgage REIT focused on high-quality residential and commercial loans and securities. In terms of academic achievements, Byron holds an A.B. in Economics and Government from Dartmouth College and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
