The Conference Board

Barbara Lombardo serves The Conference Board as the Program Director for the Employee Engagement and Experience Council, the Learning, Development & Organizational Performance Council, and the Onboarding and New Employee Experience Council. Council. She also serves as a Distinguished Principal Research Fellow, Human Capital and has co-authored reports on career management, employee experience, onboarding, AI, Gen Z, and other topics. In addition to her work at The Conference Board, Barbara is Principal of Bergamot Consulting LLC, her independent consulting practice dedicated to helping organizations define their strategy and develop their talent.

She brings to her work more than 25 years of management consulting and leadership experience at global consulting firms including KPMG, PwC, and IBM Global Business Services, where she served as the global leader for Learning Solutions, and the North America leader for the Talent and Change Consulting Practice.

Barbara has a lifelong commitment to education and nonprofit institutions. She began her career in the nonprofit and education consulting practice of KPMG, and was an adjunct professor of nonprofit management at Lewis & Clark College and Portland State University. She has served as a trustee of Lafayette College; trustee and board chair of The Montgomery School in Chester Springs, PA; trustee and board chair of the Gateway to College National Network; and trustee of Achieving the Dream. Currently, she volunteers as a tutor to non-native English speakers with Volunteer English Program, and as a steward and trailhead ambassador with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.

Barbara received her MBA and PhD degrees from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on business and public policy. She graduated summa cum laude from Lafayette College with a degree in economics and business.
