Ashok is a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board in Asia. Based in Singapore, he is a senior performance and reward executive with nearly four decades of experience spanning productivity, human capital transformation, performance management, executive remuneration, total rewards, and employee well-being.

Prior to joining The Conference Board, Ashok served as Global Head of Performance and Reward within bp plc’s People and Culture function. A member of bp’s Human Resources Leadership Team for more than a decade, he led the company’s enterprise-wide frameworks for total rewards, executive remuneration, mobility, performance management, and wellbeing. He also advised the Board Remuneration Committee and executive leadership team on global performance and remuneration strategy, executive compensation, and governance matters.

During his career at bp, Ashok also served as Divisional Head of Reward for Refining and Marketing, with responsibility for senior executive remuneration, new-hire and retention packages, executive transitions, and the effectiveness and governance of global performance and reward practices. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles with Hay Group, now part of Korn Ferry, including Director of Operations in Singapore and Head of Performance and Reward for Asia. In these roles, he advised organizations across Asia and the Middle East on post-acquisition integration, performance and reward transformation, career structures, business scorecards, and incentive design.

Ashok holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from XLRI, India, and an MBA with distinction from London Business School. He also holds a Level 7 postgraduate diploma for non-executive directors from the Financial Times and a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice from the London Institute of Banking & Finance.

His areas of expertise include board and executive compensation, board effectiveness, total reward strategy, performance management, incentive design, reward communication, people strategy, employee wellbeing, and HR governance.
