Andrew (Andy) Slentz is Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Office Management at Hess Corporation, a leading global independent energy company focused on the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. As a member of the company’s executive leadership team, Slentz plays a key role in driving strategic enterprise initiatives and organizational effectiveness.
In this role, Slentz oversees all aspects of human capital management, including cultural stewardship, employee experience, executive compensation, talent management, leadership development, human resource systems, and organization design. He also manages the company’s major offices worldwide and represents Hess as the Community Executive in the Houston area.
With over 35 years of business experience across multiple industries and countries, Slentz brings a wealth of global leadership expertise. Before joining Hess in 2016, he served as Executive Vice President of Administration and Human Resources at Peabody Energy, a global mining company. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Rio Tinto, Drummond Company, BHP Billiton, Pirelli Cable Company, and ExxonMobil, where he gained deep experience in international business and workforce management.
Slentz is committed to community engagement and industry leadership. He serves on the boards of the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston and Lone Star Big Brothers Big Sisters (as Chairperson of the Nominating & Governance Committee). He also chairs the Education and Governance Committees for the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston and is a member of The Conference Board Human Resource Council’s Executive Committee.
Slentz holds a bachelor’s degree in Government from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University.
