Relevant Experience/Specialization

Vivek Natarajan is a Senior Director and is the Market Leader of WTW’s Health & Benefits brokerage and consulting practice in Chicago. He has over 20 years of experience as an actuary in the health benefits arena. Prior to joining WTW, Vivek was an actuary at a major health insurance carrier.

In addition to leading a team of ~100 colleagues, Vivek provides an extensive array of actuarial and strategic consulting services to his clients. He has broad experience in health care strategy consulting, having supported multiple large, complex organizations in their development of multi-year benefits strategies that align with the broader mission and vision of the company.  Vivek has experience leading teams through intensive fully-insured and self-insured vendor-employer negotiations, including underwriting analyses, competitive benchmarking, and direct negotiation of financial and qualitative deal terms, consumerism strategy development, employee contribution modeling and development, clinical and care management program evaluation, financial reporting and forecasting, claims data analysis, health plan evaluation and selection, and vendor point solution evaluation. He has also executed on a number of traditional actuarial projects such as market-level pricing, health plan trend reporting and forecasting, and utilization and cost-driver analyses.

Vivek has served as the executive sponsor, lead consultant and actuary for a variety of clients, including a Midwest health system, a national real estate management company, a large national multiple employer welfare arrangement for a quick-service restaurant chain, and a national foodservice distributor, among others.

Education and Credentials

Vivek earned a B.S. in Actuarial Mathematics and Economics from the University of Michigan. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
