Shyam Gidumal is a public-company director, former CEO and COO, institutional investor, and senior advisor with extensive experience in growth, transformation, restructuring, M&A, and value creation across consumer, digital, retail, and industrial businesses. He serves on the boards of RenaissanceRe (NYSE), where he chairs the Audit Committee; FTAI Aviation (NASDAQ); and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where he serves on the Cyber & IT Oversight Committee.

Shyam retired as President and Chief Operating Officer of WeWork, where he led a multibillion-dollar P&L spanning ten countries, two continents, and thousands of employees. During his tenure, WeWork completed its October 2021 NYSE listing through a SPAC merger that resulted in an 8x equity return. His leadership agenda included revitalizing topline growth, improving retention, exiting noncore investments, renegotiating major contracts, and redesigning the organization and its culture.

Earlier in his career, Shyam held private-equity operating and general partner roles at Stonington Partners and Crown Capital, participated in the Toys “R” Us leveraged buyout, served as chief restructuring officer for several companies, and was a senior partner at Boston Consulting Group, Ernst & Young, and AlixPartners. He also served as President and CEO of Armstrong Furniture, President and a board member of NASDAQ-listed Boss Holdings, and a board member of TSX-listed Toys “R” Us Japan.

Shyam is past Chairman of Fast Forward, a venture philanthropy organization focused on biotechnology. He has spoken at forums including the Milken Institute, guest lectured at NYU, Columbia, and Harvard business schools, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
