Lou Cornell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP USA, one of the largest engineering and professional services firms in the U.S, with more than 11,000 employees. Lou joined WSP in 2019 and has led the company’s growth and strategy for delivering innovative client solutions for transportation, water, environmental, power and energy, property and buildings, advisory services and federal market sectors in the public and private arenas. 

Prior to joining WSP, Lou spent 5 years as a senior executive at the global engineering company Jacobs, most recently leading its Buildings and Infrastructure Americas group for the western half of the U.S. Previously, he spent nearly 20 years with the worldwide engineering company AECOM in progressive design and management roles across the U.S. Major projects included the California High Speed Rail, Northshore Connector in Pennsylvania state, Los Angeles International Airport, Denver International Airport, Los Angeles Community College District, I-90 Floating Bridge in Washington state, Second Avenue Subway in New York state, and dozens of other complex, high-profile projects.

Lou is a registered professional engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering technology from the University of Pittsburgh. He has served as a member of several professional organizations including American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society for Health Care Engineering, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, Advancing Women in Transportation, American Public Transportation Association, American Road and Transportation Building Association , has held positions with those organizations and has served on the School of Engineering Dean’s advisory board at both USC and UCLA across the country.
