A seasoned executive of MNCs with decades of full-time work experience in the fields of government affairs and public affairs, featuring solid background in terms of governmental liaison, industry association engagement and research institute partnership.

In 2024 - 2025, he was hired as an investment consultant at Oaktree Capital. Previously, Jianbo was General Manager of External Affairs at Bank of East Asia (BEA China) for five and half years. Prior to BEA, Jianbo established the first government affairs team for J.P. Morgan in China and served as Country Head of IGR for seven years. Before joining J.P. Morgan, he was a director at Standard Chartered Bank, shaped and led the bank’s first Public Affairs team in China for many years.

In the early years of the new century, he was hired as Head of Public Affairs/Public Policy at the American Chamber of Commerce in China and later at General Electric (GE China).  His stints also include working for the Ministry of Culture under the State Council. He got two Bachelor’s degrees from Peking University, majoring in Law and Literature, and later obtained an MA in management from the City University of London.

He is currently an MA tutor at the Foreign Affairs College in Beijing, and a senior mentor for the UNGLEP, a leadership and sustainable program initiated by the United Nations.
