Carrie Scott is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in sustainability and corporate affairs. Her background is in environmental and social impact strategy, reporting and disclosure, corporate communications, and reputation risk management for international organizations.

Carrie built the Sustainability and ESG Office at Novartis, and during her tenure, the company improved to a AAA-rating from MSCI, achieved a “Double A” in CDP Climate and Water, and rose to number one in the Access to Medicines Index.

Carrie is a Board member of the United Nations Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein, elected in 2023. In 2025, she was named to the Meaningful Business 100 list of leaders combining profit and purpose.

She is co-authoring a book for sustainability practitioners, Navigating the Business of Sustainability: A Practitioner’s Guide with the Chief Sustainability Officers of UBS and RELX. Elsevier will publish the book in late 2026.

Carrie has lived and worked in the United States, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, USA.
