Associate Researcher, The Engagement Institute TM

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the research and dissemination activities of   The Engagement Institute (TEI) and works closely with researchers from Deloitte, Sirota and The Conference Board who have formed this joint partnership.  In this role, the incumbent serves as a junior researcher on independent research projects, partners closely with senior researchers, supports the overall research and dissemination plan and works with the Senior Vice President, Human Capital who also serves as the Director of TEI.  Oversees the engagement platform, a repository of research and insights as well as a platform for sharing the ongoing insights of the members of TEI.  Oversees the quarterly survey schedules and the quarterly webcast scheduled (for the dissemination of insights) or members.  Partners with the Deloitte and Sirota teams to create and deliver workshops and events.   Supports the Director of TEI on the planning and delivery of an annual Summit.  In addition, the incumbent will create and disseminate the quarterly Human Capital in Review publication.

The Associate Researcher works independently as well as in close cooperation with other research staff at three organizations (TCB, Sirota and Deloitte).    He/she works with Program Directors of delivery channels (e.g., academies, seminars, webcasts, conferences, councils and centers) to determine subject matter and research content of deliverables.   Works closely with and as part of the internal Human Capital team to add value and research depth to member offerings.  

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Director of TEI who also serves as the Senior Vice President, Human Capital, The Conference Board.  

Principal Direct Activities

  1. Serve as an Associate Researcher
    • Successfully executes and/or manages multiple research projects with tight deadlines to completion.
    • Keeps current in the employee engagement space as well as intersecting areas such as diversity and innovation, research methodologies and available information dissemination techniques, so as to be seen as a credible voice on the topic of engagement.
    • Shows leadership through providing guidance and assistance to TCB, Sirota and Deloitte colleagues in the resolution of research problems, and interacting collaboratively with business executives and academic researchers.
    Oversees the engagement platform, a repository of research and insights as well as a platform for sharing the ongoing insights of the members of TEI.
  2. Oversees the quarterly survey schedules associated with the research agenda and individual research projectssurveys. Ability to master and use advanced statistical packages is essential.
  3. Oversees the quarterly webcast scheduled (for the dissemination of insights) or members of TEI.
  4. Partners with the Deloitte and Sirota teams to create and deliver workshops and events.
  5. Supports the Director of TEI on the planning and delivery of an annual Summit.
  6. Creates for disseminate the quarterly Human Capital in Review publication; available not only to members of TEI but also the general membership of The Conference Board.
  7. The Associate Researcher works independently as well as in close cooperation with other research staff at three organizations (TCB, Sirota and Deloitte).
  8. He/she works with Program Directors of delivery channels (e.g., academies, seminars, webcasts, conferences, councils and centers) to determine subject matter and research content of deliverables.
  9. Works closely with and as part of the internal Human Capital team to add value and research depth to member offerings.  
  10. Partners with the internal TCB finance team to prepare and present quarterly financial statements to the TEI governing team insuring transparency and accuracy.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications and Requirements:

Superior performance as a Research Analyst is required along with evidence of publication and an understanding of the editorial and production processes. Bachelor degree required; Master’s degree preferred.  Requires business, psychology, human resources or related field of 3-5 years directly related work experience.

Expertise in the human capital area is highly desired.   In addition, the person should be familiar with the corporate environment and have well developed communication and networking skills.
