As pressure for companies to meet quarterly earnings and produce results in the short-term rises, there is a simultaneous increased pressure to foster talent for succession in the long-term. As opposed to reiterating the challenges of growing talent for succession, this group will characterize and simplify high-leverage strategy, process, tools, and mindset necessary for growing talent for succession. It will then determine the range of developmental options that are effective to build competencies, including cultural competency.
Methodology
- A literature review highlighting current state of succession planning practice, which will be distributed upon membership.
- A survey that highlights the succession plan practices and the merits and challenges of having long-term top leader dedication to grow talent for succession.
- A compilation of best practices for embedding growth of talent for succession, including cultural and global issues.
End of Group Deliverables
- Gain objective insights on key issues regarding growing talent for succession. Internal talent growth is specifically highlighted by top companies.
- A "playbook" that demonstrates high-leverage strategy, process, tools, and mindset necessary for growing talent for senior executive succession that can be used as a template for your business.
- Interaction with thought leaders on this topic to help influence HR and organizational change.
- Expand frame of reference in what it takes to implement sustainable talent growth for succession in organizations.
- Contribute towards the continuity of enterprises by having access to methods for developing high-potential employees ready to step in both now and in the future.
