Let Go & Lead! Innovative Thinking from Influential Leaders
Sponsored by the Communications Strategy I Council
24 September, 2012 | (01 hr)
A little over a year ago, Maril MacDonald, CEO of Gagen MacDonald and long-time member of the Council on Corporate Communications Strategy I, launched a pioneering project to explore leadership and communication in the 21st Century. Since then, Let Go & Lead has brought together a diverse community of leaders from different walks of life—CEOs of leading companies, educators, designers, artists, and anthropologists—to share perspectives on what it means to lead in today’s ever-changing world—a world where leaders feel less and less in control.
Based on this provocative concept, several thought leaders have joined the project including Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz; world-renowned cultural anthropologist and best-selling author, Dan Pink; and master storyteller and author of Tuesdays With Morrie, Mitch Albom. Each thought leader has shared a unique point of view on a fundamental paradox at the heart of today’s leadership challenge: Now more than ever, leaders must let go to lead.
Join us for an informative session, in which Maril will discuss:
- The forces shaping today’s business environment and leadership challenge
- The role of purpose in defining strategy
- How to engage employees in executing your strategy
- Implications of this new paradigm for the Corporate Communications function
Audience: Communications Professionals, Leadership Development, Coaching and Talent Management Executives
