With rapidly advancing technologies enabling instantaneous communication, it is no wonder that the nature of work has begun to transform into a more mobile and remote activity. More often than not, one’s work is performed in a variety of locations and settings rather a singular traditional workspace. The trend of teleworking is on the rise. New research from The Conference Board analyzes trends from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and current research in the field, to delve into the concept of teleworking. While the trend is increasing, many human capital executives are still confused as to what to do about teleworking, or how to enhance their programs. Findings from the study will be presented as well as a case study of an organization embracing and implementing teleworking efforts. Challenges and considerations will be discussed for organizations thinking of implementing a telework initiative.

Audience: Human Capital executives focusing on employee engagement, HR programs, workforce planning, and manager development can benefit from learning about this trend.
