Micro-Inequities
A Blind Spot in Effective Leadership
22 March, 2012 | (01 hr)
Micro-inequities come from the subtle, often semi-conscious, cues we send that reveal far more about the true nature of a relationship than any of the words we use. The "micro-messages" we send override our conscious thinking and best intentions. However, once recognized and incorporated into an overall strategy, they can be a strong driver for inclusion.
This webcast will focus on how micro-inequities and micro-messaging has evolved over the last five years and the lessons learned. Stephen Young, author of the book on this topic, “Micro-Messaging: Why Great Leadership is Beyond Words,” will discuss how the work has evolved, as well as how and where it is being used in all regions of the globe. Stephen will be joined by a D&I practitioner who will share their experience.
In viewing, participants will:
- Understand the concepts of micro-inequities and micro-messaging
- Learn how and where they are being applied
- Learn how to focus on this topic and foster inclusion
