National economic growth has slowed to a crawl, which along with state and local fiscal austerity measures has a dampening effect on regional economic activity. We will examine the differing cyclical (short-term) and structural (long-term) trends across the regions of the U.S. The key sectors driving economic activity at regional level include manufacturing, real estate, agriculture, natural resources and technology.
