The Effects of the Current Financial Stress on the Real Economy

The financial system has been showing signs of instability. The European sovereign debt crisis is spilling over to the banking system and beyond as financial markets grow wary. This webcast will look at the crisis from the macroeconomic perspective and comment on the context in which the debt crisis is happening. We will look at what The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for the Euro Area and for the United States are showing us as well as what we can learn from experimental Financial Instability Indexes for the Euro Area and the United States and the new Financial Conditions Index for the United States.
