The future competitiveness of U.S. business and the prosperity of local communities depend on America’s ability to produce a highly skilled workforce.
Achieving that goal is the responsibility of governments, educational institutions, individuals, and businesses. Recognizing its role, the business community has been a significant investor of dollars and resources in schools to enhance the educational experience. However, many employees remain unaware of the active role their own businesses play in the educational arena on a local, state, and/or national level. This discussion guide is designed to help employers communicate their current involvement in education programs and reform initiatives as well as help employees to be educated consumers of—and perhaps volunteers for—education.
