Western and Asian business cultures differ in management practice and leadership
development, but results of a survey by The Conference Board suggest there may
be a common set of perceptions underlying certain leadership development practices. Long-term international assignments, participation in international cross-functional teams, and internal management education programs are effective across all cultures. A blend of a corporate system and a local approach offers the best prospects for success in meeting the leadership development challenge.
